Christmas Meal Baskets
Rotaractors prepared Christmas Meal Baskets to deliver families in Belize City during the Christmas Holidays.  The idea is to bring families together through the many joys of Christmas, one of which is eating a nice Christmas Family Dinner.  The Rotaract Club used funds it received from its fund raising activities and generous donations from the Belizean public and business community to provide the families with an assortment of groceries and other basic items such as Quality Poultry chicken, beans, rice flour, cranberry sauce to prepare that Dinner.  As you go through the holiday season and the new year, we hope you spread the joy of giving and share and the joy of love.

Christmas Tree Lighting and Gift Sharing
Rotaractors decided to spread a little Christmas joy to all the patients and staff of the Karl Heusner Memorial Park Pediatric Ward by decorating the park/playground garden on the evening of December 6th, 2010.  This was the first event of its kind with the hospital.  Representatives from the hospital and Rotaractors, family and friends were on hand for the joyous occasion and patients were awarded gifts to some deserving patients.  We hope all the patients get well and are home for the Christmas.  As you go through the holiday season and the new year, we hope you spread the joy of giving and share and the joy of love.

Financial Assistance Program
The Rotaract Club of Belize has embarked on a financial assistance program to assist primary school students from a low income family.  Three, out of a family of seven kids all attending Calvary Temple Primary School in the South side Belize City, will be assisted with school fees for the entire school year along with uniform, school bags and any other necessary accessories.  The other children will be supplied with other necessary school accessories.  The assistance will be for the entire school year September 2010 to June 2011.  The aim is to alleviate the financial burden of a family with a profound need.  Providing the assistance is to encourage the children with good performance and discipline and coming from a low income family with the necessary resources to stay in school and succeed.  This program encourages these students to excel in their school work and be promoted to the next class where they will be provided the continued assistance to ensure they graduate to High School.

If you would like to contribute to this program to expand out outreach to more children, we welcome and kindly appreciate your donations.  Please feel free to contact us at rotaractbze@gmail.com and assist in any way you can.

Boxes Can Food Project (click to see flyer)
The Rotaract Club has embarked on a project to help families in need and in the need of any disaster. The has placed boxes at various stores in the Belize City with a poster in an effort to collect canned grocery items.   Our club will have these items in storage so as to give prompt assistance to any family affected by flood, fire or any natural disaster. If our country does not have any loss because of disaster, these items will be used to prepare Christmas baskets that we issue yearly to families who require assistance.  So far we have boxes at K-Park Supermarket in King's Park and Public's Supermarket on the Northern Highway.  So the next time you go to shop at any of these locations, please feel free to buy 1 extra canned good and assist us with helping others.

This project was successfully completed in October 2010.  All the donations were donated to the persons and families affected by Hurricane Richard.
